Most efficient way to farm a lot of bone splinter is to farm it with high tier tool around volcano in hard maps.

Harvested from Mammoth tusks found in medium and hard maps. In medium maps tusks can be found in anywhere in greener areas. In hard maps they are found only around volcanos. Also drops from Rupu's.
